Chamber Choir

Coro Volante was founded in 2017 by Brett and Krista Cornish Scott. Reflecting the two founders’ long standing advocacy for new music. the ensemble is devoted to performing and recording music by living composers from around the world. the chorus voraciously tackles a variety of styles and genres with a passion for highlighting new, emerging choral voices. Coro Volante’s releases through the Ablaze record label, New Choral Voices Volume 2, 3 and 4 received stellar reviews from both composers and critics, who cite the group’s “tremendous breath control”, “careful choral balancing”, and “beautifully realized performance”.

BRNO PHILHARMONIC

Symphony Orchestra

Today’s Philharmonic was established on 1 January 1956, when it performed its first concert. The philharmonic tradition in Brno dates back to the 1870s when a young Leoš Janáček made efforts to establish a Czech symphony orchestra there. Now with over a hundred members, today the Philharmonic performs at festivals and concert halls all over the world. It collaborates with renowned conductors and star soloists, regularly sells out halls as far away as Japan, and in 2015 even visited Oman for the first time. In addition to its busy and respected concert season the philharmonic sustains an active recording roster and has recorded more than 20 CDs of new music for ABLAZE Records.

ROYAL SCOTTISH NATIONAL ORCHESTRA

SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

Formed in 1891 as the Scottish Orchestra, the company became the Scottish National Orchestra in 1950, and was awarded Royal Patronage in 1977. The Orchestra’s artistic team is led by Danish conductor Thomas Søndergård, who was appointed RSNO Music Director in 2018, having previously held the position of Principal Guest Conductor. Hong Kong-born conductor Elim Chan succeeds Søndergård as Principal Guest Conductor. The RSNO performs across Scotland, including concerts in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen, Perth and Inverness. The Orchestra appears regularly at the Edinburgh International Festival and the BBC Proms, and has made recent tours to the USA, China and Europe.

CCM WIND SYMPHONY

WIND ENSEMBLE

The CCM Wind Symphony is comprised of highly advanced performers of wind and percussion instruments. The ensemble is internationally recognized as one of the finest groups of its kind. Each semester the players are auditioned and assigned parts on a rotating basis. Following a philosophy of one player per part and adopting flexible instrumentation according to the composer’s intentions, the ensemble performs chamber music, selected transcriptions, concerti and original full ensemble repertoire spanning five centuries.
